AROMA
- Spiritual Jazz, Jazz-Fusion, Afro Soul
AROMA is the transcontinental electronic project of acclaimed pianist Aron Ottignon (Blue Note, Stromae, Baaba Maal) and sound alchemist Nane Kahle (Sonic Interventions).
Their partnership evolved after an initial meeting in Senegal and subsequent work together on Ottignon’s Urban Trout label. The project, refined by UK producer Seiji, blends Ottignon’s lyrical piano and Osmose synthesis with Kahle’s soulful vocals and organic, ancestral rhythms.
AROMA creates immersive music that sits at the intersection of spiritual jazz, ambient experimentation, and Afro-electronic sound. Their debut EP, Return of the Dawn, was released on October 30th, 2025.

IBAAKU
- Jóola Jazz, Afro Hypnotik, Electronica
“Jóola Jazz is easily Ibaaku’s most fully realized, intertextual project to date. Blending touchstones of its semi-titular genre with stylings evolved from the traditional music evolved of Casamance” – FADER
After several evocative pseudonyms, IBAAKU chose his first name in Djola for this new project, marking a turning point for this multidisciplinary artist. Born in Dakar, but originally from Casamance, Ibaaku is a prolific artist; not only a producer but also a multi-instrumentalist, author, rapper, composer and radio host.
Since 2016 IBAAKU is a rising figure in electronic and experimental music on the African continent. He has played WOMEX, Roskilde Festival and other major festivals worldwide. IBAAKU’s brand new album “Joola Jazz” is the meeting of electronic music, jazz and the Casamance musical tradition.
